Slow communte

Here in Western New York, on the shores of the Great Lakes, we are used to snow. It is often a way of life for four or five months out of the year.

So you would think that a few inches of frozen whiteness would not be anything more than an ordinary day.

But this day something was different, and it's hard for me to put a finger on exactly what.

My morning commute normally takes 15 to 20 minutes, but today it was 50 minutes. And my co-workers had similar experiences. Some even had it worse.

Thinking the out-of-the-way secret short-cuts would deliver me from stop-and-go did not work out very well. It seemed no matter which way you pointed your car there were delays.

Oh well... only a few more months of this.

    1. Ken, if you click the "Location" link on most of my posts it will show you where the photo was taken on a map.

I agree this does look a bit like Lake Road but it is actually Richs Dugway, a short winding road out of Ellison Park. It is a nice winding drive regardless of time of year up to Landing Road and always interesting. You do feel like you are going up someones drive way because is is a real back road.

  2. The snow we had yesterday was light but made driving a little crazy.

  3. I'm somewhat unfamiliar with this area, but after looking at the map, I know where it is now. This is a beautiful area and I never think to go there. I'll have to add it to my list.
