Square or not...

I have a fondness for square (1:1) format images, and the design layout of this blog kinda looks best that way, but sometimes an image needs another aspect ratio. I like both of these images captured at the Cummer Museum, but the second image is really about the tree with the added interest of the other elements.

    In my youth I had a 2 1/4 square format camera. While I got use to it, composing in that format is always a challenge. I think it is easier to compose a photo in the more common rectangular format. BTW, beautiful photos of this classical garden.
