Pierce-Arrow

I today visited the Pierce-Arrow Museum in Buffalo NY and recommend it to anyone interested in history and early automobiles. I am not sure it is worth a long special trip, but if you are in the area an have an hour or two, it is definitely worth it.

The Pierce-Arrow was a very luxurious and prestigious automobile and the choice of the White House for many years. The car was build in Buffalo but production was halted during the depression.

The new section of the museum, that can be seen in the background, will soon contain a realization of a never built Frank Lloyd Wright design for a filling sation.  This will help generate interest in the instutuion which is badly needed.  During our visit only a very few patrons were in the building.

Runoff control

I guess environmental laws stipulate that all construction sites that involve moving dirt require a means of runoff control. A good idea, but in may cases like this one, it does not seem very necessary or effective.

But rules must be followed.

Stoplight

Nobody likes to stop for a red light, but I guess in this case stopping is preferable to going straight.  Nobody wants to be there, or at least they are not in a hurry to get there.

So I recommend a turn. I think left would be good.

Light reflection

Reflections can be disorienting.  What is up... what is down?

Just beyond the asphalt

At the office where I now work, if you go to the back of the parking lot, and step off pavement, you are suddenly in a different world.

Have a seat

I am sure there is a story behind this, and I think I can figure out what it is.

But this does strike me as pretty funny.

Easy pickin's

A bit cliché I know... pictures of sunflowers?

Well, after driving past this field on my way to work for the last week I finally took the time to stop for a closer look.

They are pretty don't you think?

How to feel like a creep

I was going to call this "Best friends" but, because I do not know these young women, and I shot the photo without their knowledge, I feel like a creep.

Anyone that covertly goes around shooting pictures of women or children is suspect.

But I could not help myself.  A photograph of two girls who dress the same, sit the same and even pick the same ice cream treat, in my opinion, makes a good picture.

So call me a creep.
