Birds on a wire

I find it curious that birds that come to rest on a wire seem to find a way to evenly space out. It is almost like they carry a ruler to measure the distance that they can be from their neighbor. Of course there are always exceptions... those crazy nonconformists that break the rule.

Slow down

10 MPH is really slow if you are driving a car, but really fast if you are walking. Riding a bike... it is just about right.

I guess it all depends, but I think slowing down is always a good idea. Taking time to really see what is around you means you will see things better, including the speed limit signs.

Bush or tree?

When does a bush become a tree... does it matter?

Changing color

We have had unusually warm weather over the last week but the calendar tells me it is now autumn, and as the foliage has begun to change color, I see that it is so.

Cacti

Rochester is not associated with cactus, but in an adequately controlled greenhouse, they seem to thrive... at least at the Lamberton Conservatory.

Into the stadium

No, I am not suddenly a sports fan... I am on my way to a seat at a concert by the Irish rock band U2. It is taking place at the New Era Field, home of the NFL Buffalo Bills.

Concerts of this scale are not only a sound explosion, but also a visual extravaganza. The staging is massive and the size of the video screen is almost beyond belief. The spectacle was so much more than the typical i-mag (image magnification) but rather a carefully crafted visual journey; at times intense, and at others hypnotic, and always elegantly stylish.

Needless to say it was a wonderful experience both musically and visually... even if it was in a NFL stadium.
