A pet peeve of mine is fake shutters which you commonly see on homes everywhere. They are supposed to be decorative, which I understand, but something bothers me about the vestige quality of these non-functional add-ons.
But having fake shutters showing up on an industrial building like this is really quite funny.
At least it adds some color to otherwise bland architecture.
The thing that amuses me most about fake shutters is that in most cases they quite obviously would not actually cover the windows. Here in my neighborhood we have windows with arches where the shutters would clearly leave a large gap all around. This photo almost makes me wonder if someone was playing a joke with some surplus shutters they took from somewhere else. Funny!
