I often think architecture looks best in black and white. A little boost in contrast also helps as does dramatic shapes, angles and reflections, all against a noncompeting sky. But maybe it is just me.
I think you're right, John. Especially modern architecture which is mostly shades of gray anyway. A clear blue sky often makes a nice contrast, but a contrasting tone of gray like you have here is also nice.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Tom. To show gestalt, monochrome is certainly more suitable, as no colors detract from the intended abstraction.
