Natural pyramid

Very near my home is an undeveloped county park that borders Irondequoit Bay. According to official description it is only accessible from the water. I have found a way in over what must be private but also undeveloped and unposted land. It's not easy to get there... it is well hidden.

What is striking about the property is the wild gyrations of elevation as the shoulder of the land tumbles irregularly 175 feet to the bay shoreline. It almost appears the landscape must be the result of something other than nature... but it is nature's work only. I am no geographer so I can only guess what forces formed this land; perhaps it was the last ice age and action of glaciers, but who knows?

Honest Abe

I missed Presidents Day earlier this week, but this image of Lincoln popped-up in front of me one my walk, so here it is. It is very small in the frame (click to enlarge) and still you will need to take my word for it.

Not sure what it is doing there. Also, I did not remember that Lincoln had a pink beard.

Craft brewer

It seems that craft brewers are showing up everywhere you look these days... this one is practically on my corner. New York state now has about 250 brewers, up from 95 just three years ago. It seems people lover their beer.

Cemetery > one-way

The final trip to the cemetery does seem to be a one-way trip, but this sign points out, not in.

Makes you stop and think.
