Just south of Rochester, near Jefferson Road, the Conrail line crosses the Genesee River. This day ice is slowly flowing downstream heading for the city, then north to Charlotte and into Lake Ontario.
Meanwhile the apparently empty rail line provides movement east and west, so this junction is the only time these lines cross.
