More light please
I am no fan of long dark winters. Fortunately even though we are only four or five weeks into winter, the days are starting to get longer. The photo above illustrates that when I now leave, work there is a hint of light in the sky... something I am grateful for.

Self storage
Not posting much these days is really a result of cold weather and limited daylight... or more likely it is just that I am being lazy.
Anyway, I dug back into my archives and found this image from April 2011 that was never posted (probably for good reason). This historic warehouse was transformed into a self storage facility, which in a way seems to be a shame from a "lets value the past" standpoint, but then again perfectly consistent with its original purpose. It is certainly better to keep it vital than to neglect and let it fall into disrepair.
Which maybe holds a message for me... don't neglect the picture making, or else fall into disrepair.

Night shot
This time of year picture taking often means night shots, because the days are so short. It is not my favorite time of the year, but it has not yet driven me to drink. Yet there is nothing wrong with a nice glass of wine with diner on these cold nights.

Snow mountain
Not sure what fascinates me about giant piles of snow in abandoned parking lots, but it does seem so unnatural and strange to see fifteen foot high mountains around so much nearly bare horizontal surface. Got to make room for those shoppers.

New years hangover
The storm dropped quite a lot of snow on Webster (where life is worth living). It was nice soft and light, perfect for doing a bit of drifting. The overhang of white stuff created an interesting formation over the front door... if it gets much larger we will have to tunnel our way in.
View from the porch.
