Big parking lot means big snow piles
When we get a reprieve from snowfall and a bit of thaw the front loaders come in to create eight foot piles to make room for more to come.

How about Mexican?
When the weather gets cold, I like Mexican food. Come to think about it, Mexican food is good any time.

Erie County offices
They sure don't build them like this anymore.
In the winter it is nice to look up and lose site of the snow and instead sometimes enjoy some blue sky.

Lucy's hometown
Jamestown, New York.
Actually it is my hometown too.
When I lived there, over 40 years ago, it was a source of pride that Lucille Ball was from our town. She was a very successful female entertainer and celebrity, and certainly the most important export ever from our little town. People talked about it with pride, but that was about all.
Over the last 20 years, and years after her death, Jamestown has become everything Lucy with a museum, annual comedy festival, a theater named after her, and multiple large murals displayed around downtown. The Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum is located at the very center of downtown in the former Woothworth storefront. People come from far and wide, even contemporary celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, Jay Leno, and Bob Newhart... just to name a few of my favorites.
Possibly the best thing that has ever happened to Jamestown.

2018: First walk
It was fresh, bright and cold (+2º F). Blue sky, low winter sun, fresh white snow crunching under my feet. Perhaps it foretells the possibility of a better new year. Let's hope so.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year.
