Beachwalker buzzed
I like the look of this photo but admittedly it is over-processed which is not normally my way of doing things. It becomes a little abstract, but the colors and composition work for me. What do you think?

Moonlit beach dog walker
Pretty noisy image... asking a bit more than the iPhone could deliver and also more than noise reduction could clean-up, but I am posting anyway. We expect more and more performance from our digital cameras, including phones, but there are limits to everything.
And yet the image does convey a certain mood.

2018: First walk
It was fresh, bright and cold (+2ยบ F). Blue sky, low winter sun, fresh white snow crunching under my feet. Perhaps it foretells the possibility of a better new year. Let's hope so.
Happy New Year.

Walking on rock
I read someplace that the rock that makes up the Adirondack mountains is nearly indistinguishable from rock samples brought back from the moon... so this is almost like a moon walk, but not the Michael Jackson kind.

Back to the canal
Before I retired I walked the canal path almost every day. And my previous place of employment was also near the canal, although a different section. Yesterday I was in the area and had some time to again try another path along the canal. It is a great place to walk and a terrific resource.

Morning walk in fresh snow
Since retiring most mornings I take a walk. Around my home I have a number of directions I can go but all have become familiar. The challenge is to keep looking for the interesting and unexpected. Of course fresh light snow always presents new perspectives.

Winter walk
I know winter is not official for another ten days, but around here we are normally well into snow and cold by December. Not this year.
My walk across the fields and to the path behind my work building was more like October... sunny and in the 50s. We have only had one short instance of snow cover so far, and no show or cold in the forecast.
But we can still hope for a white christmas.

Almost pink
The Scottish Rite Temple building in Santa Fe is on the fringe of what is acceptable architecturally. It certainly is not Pueblo style, and only skirts the look of Mission style, and the color is more pink than what is traditional.
After several days of looking at architecture in Santa Fe it occurred to me: I bet the local Home Depot does't stock a wide variety of exterior paint colors. This color must have been special order.

Morning walkers
Got lot's of pictures, so I break my tradition and publish multiple images in one posting.
My early morning walks (well not that early) were a pleasant time to look for photos. And a really enjoyable part of the trip.
As usual, click for bigger images.
