Farm crops
The scarcity of rain has had a adverse impact on many farms unless rigorous irrigation is applied. It seems that farming is very much a risky business.
Can't say too much about this corn crop.

More rain please...
Many readers may notice that I have copied the latest post name from the Landscapist. That is true, but my comment is directed more at the brown crunchy grass and the drought that is effecting much of the country. I live almost on the shores of one of the Great Lakes so there is not much chance that we will run out of water, but none-the-less, a nice soaking rain would brighten up our greenery.

Coneheads?
Note sure, but I think this is a car full of coneheads.
My few loyal visitors may have noticed I have not posted for quite awhile... almost 2 weeks. This has been a result of a couple of things... one being a summer cold that has made me not too interested in doing much.
The other is the stress of finding continued employment. I am very pleased to say that my search has concluded, and I will soon be taking on new challenges with a new job in a new company (that is, new to me company). I consider myself very lucky indeed in the current employment environment to find a position that I anticipate will be rewarding, assuming I will not have to work with coneheads.

July 4th 2012, Lake George, New York
July 4th is a national day of picnics, friends and family, the unofficial start of summer, and in the evening; fireworks. Of course it is also a celebration of our independence from the rule of England. Today England and the United State are the closest of allies (except maybe Canada if only because of geographic closeness).
I strikes me as odd that our best friends are the counties that we once fought against... England being only one example. Germany and Japan are other instances that come to mind. Even Canada. Wonder why that is?
At any rate, it was a wonderful day, on and near a great body of water, spent with good friends.
