Runoff control

I guess environmental laws stipulate that all construction sites that involve moving dirt require a means of runoff control. A good idea, but in may cases like this one, it does not seem very necessary or effective.

But rules must be followed.

  1. I saw a crazy thing last night: a 3 foot length of railing on the edge of the sidewalk that had been crumpled in a traffic incident. In order to warm folk of the "terrible dangers" thus created, numerous traffic cones and warning tape had been positioned all around it. There was only one way left for pedestrians to circumnavigate the safety warnings ~ to walk out into the busy road!

  2. Not very effective for runoff control but it makes a dramatic photo with nice light and a gray sky.
