I couldn't look away
I complain about snow but it is hard to deny that it can be quite beautiful. The shapes and contours can be rather seductive.

Steamed
I am sick of snow. I am sick of cold. I am tired of looking for photographs in the snow and cold.
Saying I am "steamed" is a bit much, but the thought of steam is actually inviting.
I guess I should not complain... it was a full 10° F warmer when I made this photo than during my drive to work this morning (it was -5° F then!). And it was colder than that overnight.
I guess this winter has been tough on all of us, and there is no thaw in site, and more winter ahead.

Bike racks
Interesting design, but I don't think they will be used anytime soon. Maybe when springtime returns.

Big pile
After over a foot of snow you expect to see piles of snow, but especially in parking lots were front loaders are used, it is sometimes surprising how high the piles can get.

Fun with LEDs
Putting away the last of the Christmas lights I decided to play with a string of LED lights, setting the camera out of focus and on a long exposure, then doing "performance art"... jumping about while shaking the camera. It is kind of fun and even good exercise if you do it long enough (I took a few dozen shots).
And many abstract possibilities show up in the camera LCD.
The LEDs have intense color and they flicker with the AC current adding another point of interest.
I have done this before but that was quite a few years ago, so I figured it was time to go at it again... just for fun.
