Sometimes simple things in front of your eyes comes together and need to be photographed. I was working some patio lights and set down two of the lantern diffusers. The light and textures appealed to me... so I grabbed my camera.

The Treasury

The Treasury on the Plaza started out life as a bank in St. Augustine. It is now an event venue that hosts weddings, but is still an impressive building in downtown and the tallest structure for many miles. The terracotta/orange color is found on many buildings in St. Augustine making the elaborate architecture seem well integrated with the other historic buildings in the area.

Went birdwatching...

... and this is the best photo from the outing. I should have known better. It was afternoon by the time we got there and apparently the birds had vacated the area. 

Last time I was here there were hundreds of birds and many species. Below is the ONLY bird we saw and this was shot with an 600mm equivalent lens.
