Coleus

At least I think it is Coleus... not much of a gardener so correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, two plant posts in a row, but this particular leaf really struck me as being quite beautiful.

Spanish moss

High contrast black & white seemed to work best for this abstract look at so-called "Spanish Moss" that is not a moss at all, but a bromeliad air plant.

Mushroom forest

Although they might not appear tiny in this close-up, these little fungi popped up overnight in a planter on our patio. They do not last long but leave behind spores to propagate more of their kind. Have no idea of the species but they are fascinating little plants.

So this social isolation has resulted in me taking pictures of the patio plants... it is something to do.

Bloom is off the bird

Bird of Paradise offers a beautiful and unique blossom but even as it fades and dies I think it is interesting to picture.

Orange seed pods

Being I am still pretty new to the Florida climate I sometimes run into a plant that strikes me as unusual. Doing a bit of research, courtesy of Google, the plant seems to be Coontie Cycad Zamia and it is poisonous. It is interesting that I found it outside our local hospital. I guess incase you ingest the seeds, at least medical help it is closeby.

Stuff in the tree

I usually don't have a problem titling posts, they seem to just pop into my head, but this time nothing came to mind. Consequently I have provided this inelegant inscription.

This tree was overtaken by so called "Spanish Moss" which is neither Spanish nor a moss, but created a tangle of subtle color and form.

Croton

Croton plant has particularly colorful leaves that are quite showy. It is a tropical plant that does best in warm humid weather so it is a favorite in Florida.
