One of our garden figures is finally emerging from under the snow... good to see him!

Thistle

I was thinking about St. Patrick's Day but I now see that thistle is really a symbol of Scotland. The intricate spikiness of the flower is a curious design, even when the plant has dried and gone to seed.

Picnic anyone?

It's amazing what shows up as the snow melts. I guess the snowplow was a bit too aggressive here.

Snow on the bay

A warming trend this week will hopefully mean a bit of the long awaited winter thaw. According to the calendar Spring will be here soon, but that does not mean winter is done with us just yet.
