Rocking chairs

I think a rocking chair is one of the most relaxing ways to spend some time... especially in the shade on an outdoor porch.

That is what I remember my dad calling them, although they do not look like the description I find on Wikipedia.

These are growing in a shaded part of my back yard on the trunk of a tree. So whatever they are, they are interesting looking fungus (I presume).

Not sure why I am attracted to giant trees, but for sure I am.

The outstretched arms, the rough bark texture, the vivid green, and the deep cool shade... all good enough reasons for me.
